Setting Wires to Crimp Terminals with Robots
Using the 3D vision sensor KURASENSE and an industrial robot, wires are set into crimp terminals.
With high-speed cable 3D recognition technology, even with bends or fluctuations in the wires, they are recognized, grasped by the robot, and then inserted into the target. -
Inserting Crimp Terminals into Connectors with Robots (Rolling Hand)
KURASENSE x Cable Rolling Hand
Using the 3D vision sensor KURASENSE and an industrial robot, crimp terminals (contacts) are inserted into connectors (housing). The rotation phase of the crimp terminal is calculated, and the orientation is adjusted with the "Cable Rolling Hand." Then, the tip of the terminal is recognized in 3D and inserted into the connector.

Challenges in Handling Flexible Materials
At Kurabo Advanced Technology Division - we are working on automating the handling of flexible materials in factories—a task that has traditionally been difficult—by leveraging vision sensing technology (eye technology) as our core competency.
The biggest challenge in the manufacturing industry is the labor shortage. This issue is not unique to Japan but is also prevalent overseas, where business environments are characterized by a declining population and high labor costs. It is said that the business model of setting up production bases in regions or countries with favorable labor costs will no longer be viable in the near future.
Automation of operations by robots is no longer a matter of comparing labor costs; it is an important choice for ensuring stable business continuity and surviving in the manufacturing industry.
At Kurabo, we will utilize our accumulated technology centered around cameras, and as Eye Company Kurabo, we will contribute to building a sustainable society through visual inspection, 3D measurement, and in the field of robotics.
